Attrevo Documentation

Everything you need to install Attrevo, connect your revenue, and read your attribution with confidence.

Getting started

Attrevo answers one question: which marketing actually made you money. Three things get you there.

1. Install the snippet

Copy your snippet from Settings → Tracking and paste it immediately before the closing </body> tag on every page of your site.

your-site.html
<script async src="https://api.attrevo.com/snippet/YOUR_TENANT_ID/attrevo.js"></script>

Load any page on your site afterwards. Within about a minute the first touchpoint appears on your dashboard.

2. Connect Paystack

Go to Integrations → Paystack and paste your secret key. Attrevo pulls your transactions and matches each one to the marketing that produced it — by email first, then phone number.

3. Read your first attribution

Open Attribution. Once you have at least one touchpoint and one matched payment, revenue starts appearing against channels. Expect meaningful patterns after roughly two weeks of traffic.

Onboarding downloads

Prefer a printable walkthrough? Download the onboarding workbook (PDF) — activation worksheets you fill in as you go — or the onboarding guide (PDF). Both are also linked in the site footer.

Dashboard guide

The dashboard is your daily view. The KPI cards across the top read left to right as a funnel.

Exporting a report

Export report asks two things: what format, and where to send it.

  • PDF — formatted for reading and sharing.
  • XLSX — one workbook, a sheet per section.
  • CSV — one file per section, zipped, because a report has several sections and a CSV has no concept of a sheet.

Then send it to your registered email, to another address, or download it straight to your device. WhatsApp delivery is built but not yet connected, so it is shown disabled rather than failing quietly.

The export covers the date range selected at the top of the page, and the period is stamped on the file so there is no doubt what it covers.

CardWhat it means
Attributed revenueNaira Attrevo could trace back to a marketing touchpoint. Lower than total revenue — that gap is your unattributed revenue.
LeadsIdentified people, not anonymous visits.
Attribution coverageShare of revenue with a known source. Under 60% usually means the snippet is missing from some pages.
Top channelHighest attributed revenue for the selected date range.

Switching attribution models

The model selector re-splits the same revenue by a different rule. Nothing is recalculated or lost — switch freely. If a channel looks strong under first touch but weak under last touch, it starts conversations rather than closing them.

Leads and revenue

A lead is a person Attrevo can identify — usually because they submitted an email or phone number. Before that they are an anonymous visitor tied to a pseudonymous ID.

Open any lead to see their customer journey: every touchpoint in order, with source, medium, campaign and timestamp, and any payments matched to them.

How revenue gets matched

  1. Email match — the payment email equals a known lead email. Most reliable.
  2. Phone match — normalised to +234 format first. This matters in Nigeria, where a WhatsApp number is often the only identifier you get.
  3. Unmatched — payment recorded but not attributable. Shows in total revenue, not attributed revenue.

Campaigns and the UTM builder

Attribution is only as good as your tagging. The UTM builder under Campaigns produces consistent links so "Facebook", "facebook" and "FB" do not become three different channels.

ParameterUseExample
utm_sourceWhere the click came fromgoogle, facebook, whatsapp
utm_mediumType of trafficcpc, email, social
utm_campaignThe specific pushdecember-sale

Pick one convention — lowercase, hyphens, no spaces — and keep to it. Your utm_campaign is also what ad spend is joined on, so a name that matches the campaign on the ad platform is what makes ROAS add up — see Ad clicks and ROAS.

Paid clicks are recognised without any of this. Attrevo reads the click ID the ad platform puts on the link, so a visit from Google or Meta is identified as such even if the UTM tags are missing or wrong. Tag anyway: UTMs are what name the campaign.

Integrations

Revenue can arrive from several places at once, and Attrevo de-duplicates across them.

  • Paystack — paste your secret key. Historical transactions are imported, then new ones arrive by webhook.
  • Flutterwave — same flow, using your Flutterwave secret key.
  • Selar — for digital products and courses; connect with your Selar API key.
  • HubSpot — pulls closed-won deals so offline and sales-led revenue is attributed too.

Keys are stored encrypted, never in plain text, and can be rotated or disconnected at any time.

Attribution models explained

Say a customer clicks a Google ad, later opens your email, then buys after seeing an Instagram post — and pays ₦100,000. Each model splits that ₦100,000 differently.

ModelSplitUse it when
First touch₦100,000 to GoogleYou want to know what creates awareness.
Last touch₦100,000 to InstagramYou want to know what closes.
Linear₦33,333 eachYou believe every step contributed equally.
Time decayMost to Instagram, least to GoogleShort sales cycles where recency matters.
U-shaped40% Google, 40% Instagram, 20% emailYou value the first and last steps most — a sensible default for considered purchases.

There is no correct model. If a channel earns credit under every model, it is genuinely working; if it only looks good under one, treat that with suspicion.

Campaign Intelligence

Attrevo runs seven diagnostics across your campaigns and reports what is wrong, not just what happened. Findings are ranked Critical, High or Medium.

  • Spend with no conversions — money out, nothing back. Usually the fastest saving available.
  • Dead traffic — visits arriving but no leads. Normally a landing page or offer mismatch, not a targeting problem.
  • Negative ROAS — the campaign costs more than it returns. Needs recorded ad spend; see Ad clicks and ROAS.
  • Single-touch dependence — revenue resting on one channel, which is fragile.
  • Declining trend — performance falling week on week while spend holds.
  • Outperformer — converting well above your average. Scale it.
  • Attribution gap — revenue Attrevo cannot trace, usually a missing snippet.

Ad clicks and ROAS

Attribution tells you which marketing earned the money. ROAS tells you what that marketing cost to run. The first half arrives on its own; the second half you have to give us, because no ad platform hands over a spend figure we can read without being connected to it.

Ad clicks are recognised per platform

When someone arrives from a paid ad, the platform stamps its own identifier on the link — a click ID. The snippet reads it and records which platform the visit came from, with no tagging work from you.

PlatformWhat lands on the URL
Google Adsgclid, gbraid, wbraid
Meta — Facebook and Instagramfbclid
TikTokttclid
Xtwclid
LinkedInli_fat_id
Microsoft Advertising (Bing)msclkid

Three things worth knowing about how this is read:

  • The click ID wins over your UTM tag. A visit carrying a Google click ID and utm_source=facebook is reported as Google. The platform stamped one of those; a person typed the other.
  • It follows the visitor through the session. The click ID is kept after the landing page, so a purchase three pages later is still credited to the ad that started it.
  • Organic and direct visits stay blank. No ad platform is guessed for someone who arrived from search, a newsletter or a referral — they simply have no ad platform, which is the truth about them.

None of this replaces your UTMs. Every UTM is captured exactly as before, and campaign names still come from utm_campaign — see Campaigns and the UTM builder.

Add your ad spend to see ROAS

Spend is recorded through the API, either as your platform's own CSV export or as a single figure for a period. Your developer will find both in the developer documentation; there is no upload screen for ad spend yet.

  • A CSV export — the file your media buyer already downloads. You tell Attrevo which of your columns holds the platform, campaign, date and spend, so the file does not have to be reshaped first. One file can carry several platforms.
  • A figure for a period — "₦400,000 on Meta in March". It is spread evenly across the days in the period, which is how the number is usually held anyway.

Campaigns are joined on the name, so the campaign name on the ad platform has to match your utm_campaign. Where they differ, the revenue is reported as unmatched rather than quietly dropped, and Attrevo names the campaign so you can fix the tag.

Reading the figures

Open Insights. Return on ad spend shows revenue, spend and ROAS twice: once per platform, once per campaign. A ROAS of 3× means every ₦1 of ad spend returned ₦3 of attributed revenue.

  • No spend recorded reads "add spend to see ROAS", never 0×. A campaign that earned money on spend nobody told us about has a ROAS we cannot calculate — showing zero would read as a total loss, which is the opposite of what happened.
  • Spend that is not in naira is set aside, never converted. It is listed under "Not included in the figures above" with the campaign named. Adding a dollar to a naira produces a number that is wrong in a way nobody notices until a board meeting.

ROAS is part of Campaign Intelligence, so it is available on Growth and Enterprise.

Where import history lives

Both importers overwrite rather than duplicate: re-uploading a corrected file changes the figures it covers in place. So each keeps a history of what was uploaded, when, by whom, and which rows it could not read.

  • Ad spend — Insights, below the ROAS tables.
  • Revenue — Integrations → Bulk import, below the import card.

Rejected rows are worth opening. A row that says "line 9 has neither email nor phone" is something you can fix in the export and re-upload; a count on its own is not.

AI assistant

The assistant answers questions about your own data in plain language. It reads your attribution, campaigns and revenue — never another customer's.

Questions that work well:

  • "Which campaign should I scale this week?"
  • "Why did revenue drop last week?"
  • "What is my best channel for high-value customers?"

Answers cite the numbers behind them. Treat it as a fast analyst, not an oracle — check the figures before moving budget.

Settings and billing

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no card required. A banner appears in the app once fewer than seven days remain.

You start on whichever plan you picked — choosing Growth on the pricing page means you land on Growth, not on Starter with an upgrade prompt.

Changing plan during your trial

Switching is instant and free while you are on trial. Go to Settings → Billing and choose the plan you want. There is no checkout, because there is nothing to bill yet — the change takes effect immediately, and you can move back just as easily.

Once your subscription is active a plan change goes through checkout instead, so the billing and what you can use stay in step.

PlanMonthly (VAT inclusive)
Starter₦53,750
Growth₦161,250
EnterpriseCustom

All prices include 7.5% VAT. Every payment produces a tax invoice under Settings → Billing. Cancelling stops renewal at the end of the current period.

Your profile

Your profile is yours, not your company's — a preferred name, a short bio, and a photo or logo. Company details (name, website, industry, ad spend) live in Settings and appear on your invoices and reports.

Your photo can be a PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 2MB. It is stored privately and shown only to people in your own workspace — it is never published at a public address. You can replace or remove it at any time.

The account menu

The circle at the top right opens your account menu: your profile, KYC, settings, billing, plan changes, and how to reach us. Once you upload a photo it appears there and in the sidebar.

NDPR and data privacy

When you track your own visitors you are the data controller and Attrevo is your data processor. That means some duties sit with you.

  • Keep the consent banner enabled. Tracking is withheld until a visitor accepts, and every decision is recorded with a timestamp.
  • Publish a privacy notice on your own site explaining that attribution tracking happens.
  • Handle data subject requests within 30 days. Use Settings → NDPR to look up, export or erase everything held about a person.

Tracking data is deleted automatically after 12 months by default. See the NDPR Compliance page for the full division of responsibility.

Enterprise onboarding

Enterprise is for organisations running heavy spend across many channels, or reconciling revenue by hand. You do not wait to be sold to: you apply, review what we put together, and start using Attrevo the same day.

1. Apply

Start at attrevo.com/enterprise/apply. You tell us who to speak to, how you record revenue today, and which of four descriptions fits you — a single brand, multi-brand or an agency, a large agency or enterprise, or something outside those. That last choice sets your price.

The same form asks for your registered company details: legal name, RC number, TIN and registered address — exactly as they appear on your CAC certificate — plus a billing address if invoices go somewhere else, and who signs, who pays and who handles data protection. We ask once, here, because those details are what a tax invoice is made of. Getting them right now is what stops an invoice being queried by your finance team later.

The form remembers what you have typed, so going away to check a figure does not cost you the rest of the answers.

When you send it, we tell you to check your email. Your proposal link goes to the address you applied with, usually within a minute, and everything after this — including your invitation to sign in — arrives there.

2. Confirm your proposal

The link opens your own proposal: the plan, the seats, the fair-use ceiling, and the price. You can change it, including the total. If your finance team has agreed a different figure with us, put it in. We keep our original alongside yours so your account manager can see what changed.

Confirming the proposal fixes the figure and nothing else — it does not start your trial and it does not ask you for money. Your price is now settled, and it is the number every document after this carries.

If you chose the custom option there is no price yet — we scope and quote it properly rather than guessing. You do not have to wait for it to start your trial.

3. Check your pro-forma, and start your 14-day trial

Your pro-forma appears only once the proposal is confirmed, because it is a summary of terms you have agreed. It shows the subtotal ex-VAT, the 7.5% VAT line and the total including VAT, and it is labelled pro-forma — not a tax invoice. It is a quote for your records; the fiscal one comes after we have verified your details.

Underneath it are the registered details you gave us at the start. Read them again here and correct anything that is wrong — this is the last moment before they are frozen onto a legal document.

Confirming the pro-forma starts your trial immediately. Fourteen days, nothing charged, and no approval from us stands in the way.

4. Set up your sign-in

We email you an invitation to your workspace. Accepting it is the only way in — there is no separate account to create, and you should not sign up on your own, or your workspace and your login will end up apart. The invitation carries everything needed, so creating your password from that email lands you straight on your Enterprise dashboard as its owner.

If you already have an Attrevo account, we move that workspace onto the Enterprise trial instead — same account, same data, sign in as you always have. If the trial ends without converting, an upgraded workspace goes back to the plan it was on before.

While you are on trial you can see everything but download nothing. Every report is readable on screen; exporting one, or running a bulk historical import, unlocks when your subscription goes active. The controls tell you so rather than failing.

5. Pay, when you are ready

Paying is optional during the trial, and no way to pay appears until both confirmations are done — we do not ask for money against terms nobody has agreed. When you are ready there are two ways, both on your dashboard and on your proposal page:

  • Bank transfer. Our account details and your own reference are shown — quote the reference so we can match it. Tell us you have sent it and we confirm within one business day of it landing. You get an email receipt.
  • Card. Handled by Paystack and confirmed automatically, as long as the amount matches what you agreed.

Once your payment is confirmed, nothing asks you for it again. If you paid before we had verified your details, the tax invoice is issued already settled — you are never billed twice for the same month.

6. Your tax invoice

We check the registered details you gave us against your CAC certificate. When they are verified, your tax invoice from Techly Marketing Limited (t/a Attrevo) is issued — carrying our RC number and TIN, your legal name, and the total you agreed.

Until that check is done we cannot issue a fiscal invoice, so your finance team has nothing to pay against. Editing your details later never rewrites an invoice already sent.

7. Converting

Your account becomes a full subscription when two things are both true: your payment is confirmed, and we have completed our checks on your company. Paying early does not skip the second, and everything you set up during the trial carries over untouched.

At that point exports and bulk historical import unlock, and we backfill your past revenue against attributed conversions.

What it costs

Monthly, ex-VAT. VAT is added at 7.5% and shown as its own line on everything we send you.

TierBest forPer monthSeats
Enterprise 1A single brand₦300,000 ex-VAT5
